Pingback testing

August 16th, 2008 Posted in Varia | 1 Comment »

Today while surfing the net about info on wordpress to improve my “skills” :p I found this great tutorial about Trackback and Pingback at http://www.optiniche.com/blog/117/wordpress-trackback-tutorial/ I hope I understood everything so now this post should appear as a comment on his blog!

I also added a trackback link to this blog because the pingback doesn’t seem to work yet and I wanted to see if it is just a delay or pingback not working…

I’ll keep you updated! :)

EDIT: The pingback AND trackback worked for the exmachina blog, but not the optiniche blog. Really strange! Maybe it just needs some more time :)

Favourite boot images for the iPhone

I promised that I would post my favourite boot and recovery image for the iPhone to use with the pwnagetool or winpwn! I really think they are beautifull!! :)

MxTube also ported to 2.0

July 31st, 2008 Posted in Application, iPhone | No Comments »

MxTube is also available for download in Cydia (or when installer comes out then also there ofcourse)

So well, what’s so cool about MxTube, well it not only allows you to stream YouTube movies, but also download them and save them as .mp4 so you can SSH them and save them to your pc! Biggest advantage is ofcourse that you can watch them without being connected to the internet! You can also choose in which quality you want the movie to be downloaded!

Have fun!

BossPrefs update includes battery percentage!

July 28th, 2008 Posted in Application, iPhone | No Comments »

When I opened Cydia today (app like Installer) I noticed an update for BossPrefs, an application that allows you to shutdown certain processes, like WiFi, EDGE, 3G, SSH,…

I was really hoping that the SSH on/off option would work this time but it still doesn’t, I’m not sure if it’s me though…
Put in comments whether it works for you or not!

But well while searching for a solution in the app options, I noticed an option ‘Enable Numeric Battery’ and when I enabled it I was able to see the percentage of the battery left which is so handy cause it’s hard to see with the icon! You can toggle between the icon and percentage by just tapping it!

Check out the screenshots!

EDIT: nevermind about SSH, it works now, it was my own fault :p

Tap to get back the icon:

Numeric Battery Percentage

Tapping gets the icon back!

Hi,

Long time ago since the last time I wrote something here, but well here I am again!

Today I’m going to talk about the new pwnagetool for the iPhone, I just succesfully unlocked and jailbreaked my iPhone 2.5G with winpwn (pwnagetool for windows)

I did this by using the instructions from http://www.appleiphoneschool.com. It’s realy not that hard, when I have some more time I’ll post some screens!

Btw this was posted with the WordPress app, available for free in the appstore!

Firefox 3 – Is it good?

June 17th, 2008 Posted in Internet | No Comments »

Firefox 3

Well, to be short, it isn’t good, it is just GREAT! I just installed it and

  1. It looks great,
  2. It loads websites noticeable faster!
  3. Most addons still work,
  4. Download manager updated,
  5. It has some nice new features,

You can definitely see they worked 3 years on it! You can immideatly feel the difference, the first thing I opened was Gmail and this loaded a lot faster than with firefox 2 (or Internet Explorer). But ofcourse you have to try it for yourself!

To download Firefox 3 in your language, go here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Battery Info

April 23rd, 2008 Posted in Application, iPhone | No Comments »

This is a superhandy application that allows you to see the exact battery level of the iPhone. Much handier than trying to guess from the battery icon in the taskbar to see how much you still have.

You can get the app by adding “http://www.trejan.com/irepo” to your sources and installing the package Battery Info.

1.1.4 Cookie fix

April 23rd, 2008 Posted in iPhone | No Comments »

One thing that annoyed me about the iPhone was the fact that I always needed to relog at Gmail, Google Reader, Facebook,… I thought it was just something with the iPhone. But today I found that it is a bug in the 1.1.4 FW and here is the solution:

1. add http://appledailytimes.com/installer as a source in installer
2. install 1.1.4 cookie fix
Note – THIS NEEDS BSD SUBSYSTEM INSTALLED IN ORDER TO WORK

Got my iPhone

April 19th, 2008 Posted in iPhone | No Comments »

iPhone

Yes, I finally have my iPhone (well since last week, but I was too busy playing with it to post it! :p And before I start, I just already have to say WOW, it’s even better than expected o_O. And yes I heard the rumours about a new iPhone, but it’s still not confirmed and the major different would be that it has 3G, but well that is just the thing I don’t need, everywhere I go there is always some unprotected WiFi spot plus the fact that 3G is enormously expensive in Belgium, so you don’t want to connect with that unless you got plenty of money.

As you might have noticed there is an iPhone section on this website and I’m planning to put the in my opinion must-have applications, a how-to unlock, jailbreak, activate, tips, wallpapers and a lot more…
