Five Icon Dock in Cydia

August 31st, 2008 Posted in Application | No Comments »

What I used to have through Kate is now available as a free app, a 5 icon dock. I really enjoy it, because if you, like me, have a lot of pages with apps you know it can sometimes be annoying to scroll from the first tot the last page for a certain app you use a lot!

This is how it makes my iPhone look like:

‘The Day That Never Comes’

August 25th, 2008 Posted in Music | No Comments »

I just discovered the new single of Metallica  ‘The Day That Never Comes’ from the new album that will be released September 12th, ‘Death Magnetic’ and wow I got blown away, the song is just great, finally back like the old songs! It’s a ballad like ‘One’ and ‘The Unforgiven’. I really love it, already played it 20 times :p You can listen to the song here. And here are also the lyrics:

Better just stay down
You put away
He hits the flesh
You hit the ground
Maps so full of lies
Tend to black your eyes
Just keep them close
Keep praying
Just keep waiting

Waiting for the one
The day that never comes
When you stand up and feel the warmth
But the sunshine never comes
No the sunshine never comes

Push you cross that line
Just stay down this time
Hiding yourself
Crawling yourself
You’ll have your time
God I’ll make them pay
Take it back one day
I’ll end this day
I’ll splatter color on this grave

Waiting for the one
The day that never comes
When you stand up and feel the warmth
But the sunshine never comes
No the sunshine never comes

Love is a four letter word
And never spoken here
Love is a four letter word
Here in this prison
I suffer this no longer
I put it into
This I swear!
This I swear!
The sun will shine!
This I swear!
This I swear!
This I swear!

Installer app update to 4.0b5

August 18th, 2008 Posted in Application, iPhone | No Comments »

There is a new update for the installer app for the iPhone, you must have jailbroken your iPhone to be able to have this app! This are all the changes:

  • Many visual enhancements and fixes in regards to source and packages display.
  • Fixed an issue with failing installs with dependencies under some circumstances.
  • Fixed a bug causing package information to be displayed incorrectly (size 0 bytes) on the first access, or when the custom information HTML page (such as packages from Big Boss’ repository) was not displayed.
  • When updating a package, and one of its dependencies also has an update available, the dependency will be updated as well.
  • The package icons will only be downloaded when on the Wi-Fi to help you save on bandwidth.
  • The repositories are being refreshed upon Installer.app launch so you always stay on the bleeding edge with the updates. This is experimental behavior and we’re not yet sure it will make it to the final release.
  • Fixed a script command Confirm that was returning invalid button index for the “OK” button.
  • Lots and lots of both cosmetic and internal application core fixes that improve the overall performance, presentation and stability of the application.

Solution for AVG missing .bin

August 17th, 2008 Posted in Software | No Comments »

When I started my computer today I saw that there was an error with my anti-virus scanner AVG not finding a certain .bin file and because of that not being able to update. So I googled for it and found this:

  1. go to »www.grisoft.com/ww.download-update
  2. make a directory on your desktop called AVG
  3. download AVI: 270.6.4
  4. download IAVI: / 1616
  5. move the dowloaded files to the directory you made called AVG
  6. launch AVG
  7. select tools -> update from directory
  8. select the directory called AVG where you put the downloads

And this fixed it! Really easy!

Maybe Apple MacBook update for September

August 16th, 2008 Posted in Hardware | No Comments »

I read this on MacRumors.com and this would be really awesome because I need a new laptop, this one is really getting on my nerves, so slow :( I want a MacBook Pro! :p Can’t wait for it to be September!

“A new analyst report from Piper Jaffray claims that Apple’s September announcement will reveal a new iPod Touch and new MacBooks.

Analyst Mike Olson predicts that the iPod Touch will be tweaked to resemble Apple’s new iPhone 3G and also raises the possibility of price drops and/or capacity increases. Recent Firmware hints have suggested the iPod Touch could see feature upgrades as well. The expectation of a new iPod Touch is also consistent with whispers we’ve heard.

Olson also points to slimmer MacBooks which could also have newly designed keyboards. This prediction may have been inspired by circulating rumors and photos depicting an aluminum MacBook. Apple has been rumored to be introducing “major design changes” to their notebook computers this fall.

Apple’s choice of processors for a new MacBook revision will certainly be Intel’s upgraded Penryn processors which were introduced alongside the Montevina platform in July. The latest Intel processors boost processor speeds up to 3.06GHz and also increase bus speeds to 1066MHz (from 800MHz). The new MacBooks will likely also benefit from upgraded integrated graphics with the GMA X4500. The GMA X4500 benchmarkschipset, the implications of such a move remain unclear. significantly faster than the GMA X3100 found in current MacBooks. While there has been some talk that Apple will migrate to a 3rd party chipset, the implications of such a move remain unclear.”
